Christian Slade

Illustrator Christian Slade spent his childhood years drawing along his beloved New Jersey shore. When he first saw the manuscript for The Decoy, it reminded him of all the things he loved about the Jersey shore. Also, Christian and Edison share a common thread: career solitude. As an illustrator, he spends many hours alone in his studio working on perfecting his drawings and paintings, similar to the way Edison labors over his wooden decoys. Christian's experience ranges from being a Disney animator to creating his own line of graphic novels to illustrating many children and young adult books. Currently, Christian lives in Winter Garden, Florida, with his wife Ann and their two Welsh Corgis dogs. His dogs can sometimes be seen doing merganser-type things.
